We're very happy to be launching our famous and deluxe sets of sterling silver Christmas pudding coins (charms or tokens) for the festive season. Hooray!
Based on an old English tradition, finding one or more silver coins in your slice of pudding is said to bring good luck in the coming year - especially when it comes to money.
The Christmas coins are a fun way to keep the old tradition alive and to make precious new memories with your family at Christmas. They also make a very special gift which will last a lifetime - and more.
Learn all about the fascinating history and traditions of Christmas puddings, including the use of lucky charms, tokens or coins put into Christmas pud since way back when.
About the Christmas coins
Simone Walsh is an Australian jeweller who first made a set of these coins at the request of her mum, who missed her own mother's tradition of putting threepence and sixpence coins into the pudding every Christmas. Her mum wanted something more unique, so Simone etched the first set with a suite of vintage festive season illustrations.
Since then the design of the coins has evolved and we've now settled on these round coins and Simone's favourite illustrations. The coins make an appearance every year in her own family's Christmas pudd.
Our deluxe coin sets
Our heirloom quality deluxe sets of 6 large solid sterling silver Christmas coins come packaged with:
- My family's very easy Christmas pudding recipe which you can make on Christmas Day (and can be made into a vegan pudding with an easy change).
- My grandmother's indulgent brandy sauce recipe.
- Care and use instructions for the coins.
The sets of Christmas coins are a great way to keep the fun old tradition alive in your family. They also make a perfect gift to last a lifetime.
They are very popular and often sell out prior to Christmas, so it's a good idea to nab a set as early as you can. Thanks for supporting a small and family-run Australian business.
